From Francofolies (07) to Printemps de Bourges (08), from Zèbre de Belleville to Divan du Monde, and after the recording of a 5-track cd in 2006, a first album seems to be the logical continuation of this adventure. Twelve titles, arranged and produced by Fafa, bringing together his first titles and other writings and compositions together, produced by project BOB (in Grenoble) with the participation of Marion Ferrieu on cello, Florent Diara on percussion, Baptiste Vallet on bass and on the trombone (his stage companions), in all about thirty musicians from various backgrounds, rock, jazz or classical, and members of groups like Manu from Tryo or Olivier from Debout sur le Zinc. The result is twelve songs in color and heat, which swirl from festive folk to exquisite ska, from ginger rock to unjaded blues. With echoes of Fellini's Nino Rota, hints of popular song from yesteryear, but also rock, funk, rap and slam. An unclassifiable disc, all heart and nerves, with Yoanna's imperious and mischievous voice as a constant, nestled in agile accordion arabesques, between electric guitars and acoustic double bass, strings in an accordion quartet, drums and trumpets, belt and strap . Slices of life, of love and death, of struggle and of hope too, in raw words, in spoken words, in harsh words, in soft words. That she castigates the clumsy machos in “All bitches! “, suggests the pain of abortion in “Tightrope walker”, evokes prostitution in “Me brothel! (to a text by the Geneva writer Jean Winiger), incest in "Fleur" or anorexia in "Ma Plume", it is always with a sensitive sensitivity, between laughter and tears, anger and emotion. "I can't tell you that I also studied for a long time, that I read all of Shakespeare and that it wasn't hard," sings Yoanna in "Collégienne". Nature and without make-up, here is the universe of an artist much more woman than feminist. A very singular feminine disc. Philippe Barbot
